MEETINGS
- The STARS club meets on the second Thursday of each
month at RJ's Restaurant at 434 S. Main St in Statesboro. We eat together at 6 p.m., with the formal meeting
following at approximately 7 p.m. All are welcome. Our next meeting will be

The 2-meter STARS Net is held each Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. on the STARS
repeater (club call: KF4DG); frequency 147.105 Mhz (+) and the alternative frequency is 147.970 Mhz (-).

STAR's OFFERS EXAMINS FOR NEW HAMS News!
Since the rule requiring Morse Code has been rescinded, we will not be offering that test element,
but we will offer tests for every other license class. Please note: the Test fee is $15, and you must present
two forms of identification, at least one of which is a picture ID. If you wish to upgrade (for those already
having an amateur license), you must also supply a COPY of your current license -- the copy will be sent in with your test
results if you pass your test.
Exams are offered the Sunday after the STARS monthly meeting when the month is odd.
Test are held in the offices of the Red Cross chapter for Bulloch County, in the "Outreach
Center" on Denmark Street. IE: Next exam is scheduled for
at 2:00PM

The STARS club
currently has two repeaters in operation. Our "regional"
repeater operates on 147.105 +600KHz. This repeater is
located at the 590'level on the WVAN tower in Pembroke, GA. Our local repeater operates on 147.390 +600KHz and
is located at 300 ft on the WWNS Radio tower in Statesboro. It was placed into service on 03/01/06. It is used
for local communications primarily within Bulloch County and will be used during all special events in Statesboro.

STARS now has an Yahoo group KF4DG.
This is a great way for club members to stay in touch. The STARS e-mail
list is open to
all ham radio enthusiasts and those wishing to keep up with stars activities. Anyone wishing to keep up to date on club
news or send messages to other club members should subscribe for free if you haven't already.
